The Finca is situated in a nature reserve in rural countryside at the western edge of the lush Oratotava Valley, just below the little farming village of Tigaiga.
The
nearest beach is about 20 minutes walk away (5 minutes by car); but deep water
swimming is not advised due to strong currents (but its good for surfing)There is a beautiful safe black sand beach and a fine
sea swimming pool and lagoons designed by Cesar Manrique at Puerto de la Cruz
(15 minutes by car), a large and safe yellow sand beach at Las Terisitas in
the north-east, (about 1 hour by car), and a black sand beach at Icod in the
west (20 minutes drive).

One
can walk out of the farm on footpaths, both along the beautiful rocky coast, and
in the hills above the farm. Nearby is Icod et Alto with walks up the
mountainside; there is also the Aguamansa Park
area, with pine forests and
wonderful views (30 minutes drive away). Further a field there is the
National Park of the Volcano, Teide( one hour's drive).
Aguamansa Forest
To the north-east of the farm (30 km) lies
the Anaga Hills with good opportunities for walking along the coast , along barrancos(river
beds), and on paths in ancient green laurisilver forests. This North -eastern
part of the island is very unspoilt, with only a few small villages and no
tourism or hotels. Likewise the Teno Hills offer unspoilt mountain walks in the
southwest. (The main, over-developed and well-known tourism on the island
is situated 50 km away in the more arid south).
